MVC & Società Dante Alighieri Malta are offering you the opportunity to learn Italian in the heart of the Mediterranean
The Island of Malta Island has kept both Italian and English as official languages until 1934. The Italian language is currently understood and spoken by the vast majority of the population).
Moreover, thanks to the vicinity to Italy and satellite technology, the Maltese have full access to Italian television stations, and especially in the young population the interest towards the Italian language has never faded out. Following Maltaâs adhesion to the European Union, Italian run economic activities and commercial activities between Italy and Malta are always on the rise.
MVC, in partnership with Società Dante Alighieri-Malta, is offering the opportunity to learn the Italian language in Malta.
The Società Dante Alighieri was founded in Italy in 1889 by a group of intellectuals headed by poet Giosué Carducci, and subsequently, in 1983, it was declared as a Moral Agency and from 27th July 2004 it has been assimilated to the Non-profit organisationsâ corps.
Its primary purpose, as stipulated in Article 1 of the Statute, is to "preserve and spread the Italian language and culture in the world, reviving the spiritual ties of compatriots abroad with their motherland and promoting among foreigners the love and devotion to the Italian civilization".In order to achieve these aims, the Società Dante Alighieri has relied and still relies on the constant and generous help of over 500 Committees, of which more than 400 operating abroad, and one of them is based in Malta. After a first difficult attempt at the beginning of the 20th century, the Malta Committee was established in December 1959. 50 years of service to thousands of Maltese students and adults. Today foreigners, ailing from China to Scandinavia, from France and Spain to as far as Siberia, are the major target of the incomparable quality and experience that the Malta Comittee can offer to those who wish to learn about âIl mondo in italianoâ.
